Our mission is:
"to research and provide analysis, forecasts, and solutions to the most likely global collapse scenarios affecting humanity and its most essential global systems."
We do this to help humanity better manage its most critical global challenges, which could ultimately threaten humanity's long-term survival as a species. We also do this work because we believe it is critically important to "protect and preserve the cycle of life for future generations." If you, too, believe that protecting and preserving the cycle of life for future generations is essential, we would be honored to have you among our readers, subscribers, and supporters.
How we intend to achieve our mission:
1. Promoting the training and use of the breakthrough dialectical metasystemic analysis and problem-solving methodology, DMAP (aka the 28 dialectical thought forms, DTFs). The advanced DMAP methodology is ideal for optimized analysis, problem-solving, and managing complex adaptive systems, such as climate change and political, economic, social, and ecological systems. DMAP advances, transcends, and yet incorporates systems thinking and other earlier data analysis systems, such as logic and scientific falsification.
You may be wondering why a think tank would prioritize promoting the training and adoption of the major breakthrough and advancement in problem-solving analysis methodology called DMAP. DMAP represents a significant leap forward in analysis and problem-solving, firmly grounded in the prior skill foundations of logic, systems thinking, statistics, data analysis, and the principles of scientific falsification.
The world's ability to solve its most critical global problems will dramatically improve if more think tanks, corporations, and governments adopt DMAP methodology at their highest levels of analysis and problem-solving. The biggest problems in our complex adaptive systems will be solved more quickly, and solutions will be more accurate and effective, thus creating a better world.
To say that DMAP represents a major evolutionary leap in developing humanity's cognitive, analytical, and problem-solving skills, far surpassing the advances in these areas during the Enlightenment, is not hyperbole. To place DMAP in a historical context, the first Enlightenment era introduced a new emphasis on rational thinking, the emergence of scientific methodology, and the development of Cartesian mapping, among many other significant scientific breakthroughs. T
The massive changes in the world and humanity's worldview brought about by the tremendous scientific advances of the Enlightenment have affected our modern world far beyond what anyone could have imagined. The methodology of DMAP and its new analysis and problem-solving advances also holds a real promise of ushering in a new Second Enlightenment era for humanity.)
2. Educating about the climate change emergency (The Universe Institute partners with Job One for Humanity, a climate change think tank, on some climate change research and analysis projects.) Climate change is a steadily accelerating major and central threat multiplier, amplifier, and disruptor for many of the Earth's essential or critical systems and could, within several decades, lead to the mass extinction of humanity.
3. Educate on the prevention of war and maintaining political stability primarily by helping to evolve a new global country and government with the powers to make laws and enforce them on transnational issues threatening the survival of humanity. (Issues limited only to national boundaries would remain under the Control of national governments.)
4. Educating about the new principles of Progressive Evolution, particularly its educational possibilities in safeguarding and securing humanity's future.
5. Educating about critical environmental protection and sustainability. This includes human population stability and management in alignment with the Earth's carrying capacity.
Future areas of our mission:
1 Limited or depleting planetary resources management, such as marine protein depletion, growing freshwater supply scarcity, and the depletion of other critical resources like potassium for fertilizers.
2. Stability of national and global economic systems and financial markets. This includes exploring new, more equitable systems of monetary exchange.
While addressing the above issues, we also aim to define how we must act individually and collectively to overcome humanity's current challenges and contribute to the successful evolution of life on Earth, ultimately extending it into the universe. If we are successful in our work and collaboration in Phase One, we will help create a just planetary civilization, sustainable prosperity, and an equitable and high-quality life for all of humanity.
How will we achieve our goals?
We fulfill the educational aspect of our mission by publishing articles, papers, and books, and by consulting in collaboration with Job One for Humanity and other research organizations. Many of these articles, papers, and books outline the steps needed to address our significant planetary challenges and avoid widespread global collapse.
