Please note that the DMAP methodology breakthrough (dialectical metasystemic analysis and problem-solving) is also known by its originator, Otto Laske, as the dialectical thought form system (DTF). Training sources are listed further down this page.
How to get started with the DMAP application of Laske's DTF methodology
Start with the originator's books. To become proficient in DMAP, we recommend the following steps:
1. Order Laske's three new books on the DTF methodology, which is the basis of DMAP. You may be tempted only to order the third book, which dives directly into the 28 dialectical perspectives and tools, but we recommend against that.
Get all three new Laske books because the more you can see different applications and examples of the 28 dialectical perspectives in action, the better you can use DMAP to analyze and resolve your most important problems. Volumes one through three are currently available on Amazon here.
(Laske's original two-volume publications set is out of print. They have been replaced by the three new books originally published by Springer Publishing.)
2. Order Laske's older book on adult social-emotional development, Measuring Hidden Dimensions, The Art and Science of Fully Engaging Adults, Volume 1. This book will help you develop a broad understanding of adult social-emotional development at its highest levels and how far it has come.
This book will also help you advance your social-emotional development! From our experience, the higher the individual's social-emotional development, the easier it is to become proficient in DMAP methodology. Some DMAP users say this book has improved their lives in many non-DMAP ways.

You can get a used copy of this book on Amazon here.
Laske offers a course on understanding and fostering advanced social-emotional development here.
3. Start reading Laske's books, and most importantly, keep in mind the most crucial problem or situation you are trying to analyze or fix while reading them. DMAP methodology works on any analysis or problem needing attention.
4. If you are not a proficient self-learner, or even if you are, at some point, you will likely want to train with one of the qualified trainers and consultants. Of course, working directly with Laske is our highest recommendation as he also offers certification for some courses.
Where to get training from qualified sources
The following is the prioritized list of available dialectical metasystemic analysis training and consulting services. Of course, Otto Laske, the originator of this advanced analysis and problem-solving system, is listed first.
Unfortunately, this methodology is so new and challenging that only a few current resources offer training or consulting services. Because of the tremendous advances the methodology offers and its many benefits, soon there will be many more qualified training centers and DTF and DMAP methodology consultants.
1. To explore the online training and consulting in dialectic thinking offered by its originator, Otto Laske, at IDM, the Interdevelopmental Institute in Gloucester, MA, USA, it’s best to explore three sections of the IDM website below. He also offers certification in the various applications of dialectical thinking methodology.

Laske's publications will inform you that there are three primary book sources for learning DTF dialectical thinking.
Those sources are:
MHD volume 2, entitled Measuring Hidden Dimensions of Human Systems: Foundations of Requisite Organization (2008; 3rd edition 2021; section C of https://interdevelopmentals.org/?page_id=1974)
DTFM, Dialectical Thought Form Manual, 2010; 3rd edition 2021; section C of https://interdevelopmentals.org/?page_id=1974
Dialectical Thinking for Integral Leaders, Integral Publisher, 2015, https://www.amazon.com/Dialectical-Thinking-Integral-Leaders-Primer/dp/0990441997
Those who plan to study dialectics at IDM can prepare themselves for joining a cohort by purchasing ‘Gateway self-study’ materials at https://interdevelopmentals.org/?page_id=1974, Section B1 (English) or Section B2 (German & Spanish) for $50. This will help them ‘tune into’ the subject matter taught by Otto in small cohorts of 5-7 participants.
Blogs are a treasure trove of articles by Otto Laske, including articles about his most recent thinking. In a concentrated fashion, they comprise his writings from 2000, collected in the ‘Social Science Archive I to VI’ that includes many pertinent articles on dialectical thinking and its applications, especially in organizations.
