All think tanks have open or hidden leanings, positions, or biases. These biases or leanings are almost always based directly upon who is funding them with the biggest donations or annual subsidies.

There are conservative-leaning think tanks, progressive-leaning think tanks, evangelical-leaning think tanks, Jewish-leaning think tanks, and industry-specific think tanks. No matter what they publicly profess, think tanks always openly or secretly directly represent the interests of those funding them.

Because of this avoidable funding conflict of interest, all think tanks should be treated as highly biased toward their funders' needs and interests. Unethical think tanks have even been known to regularly alter or misrepresent facts to further their funders' financial, political, or religious interests.

100% public funding makes the Universe Institute think tank different from almost all other think tanks. Because we are 100% publicly funded, our biased leaning or position is always that of protecting the universal best interests of the common well-being and common good of all humanity and biological life.

This means you will find our uncensored analysis, forecasts, and problem-solving considerably different than those of other think tanks with hidden, opaque, or transparent special interest large donor funding. (The average donation to the Universe Institute is less than $100 US.)

Please donate here and help keep our 100% publicly funded, all-volunteer nonprofit think tank serving the world's needs.
