The Universe Institute's Papers section lists published and unpublished papers, white papers, and articles about DTF and DMAP or papers developed using DTF and DMAP methodology at some point in their creation process.
The Papers section is arranged by categories. Some categories may contain papers unrelated to the Universe Institute's mission and goals or may not be created with DMAP or DTF, but they will be labeled as such.
Please note that the breakthrough dialectical metasystemic advanced analysis and problem-solving methodology (DMAP) is also known by its originator, Otto Laske, as the dialectical thought form system (DTF).
Global Governance
1. Here is a 16-minute, brilliant video that lucidly explains why some form of global governance is needed for Humanity to resolve its many current crises, such as accelerating climate change and war. The video is called The Forgotten History of the Idea of Global Democracy. Click here for this powerful, well-thought-out video. It also illuminates why the Universe Institute has been educating about global governance as part of its core mission.
2. John Stewart, a proficient DMAP user from an evolutionary perspective, has written about the importance of global governance.
From his work:
The "Global Governance Initiative" attempts to get evolutionary science to confirm an evolutionary imperative for humanity to transition to a cooperative, sustainable, and highly evolvable global society. This transition is essential if human civilization is to overcome the threats to its survival emerging from the possibility of nuclear war and environmental degradation (including global warming).
The Global Governance Initiative is another strategy to assist the emergence of a unified, cooperative, and highly-evolvable global society. Such a society will need to be underpinned by global governance capable of aligning the interests of nation-states, corporations, individuals, and other entities with the interests of the planet as a whole. When this is achieved, it will no longer be in the interests of governments, corporations, and others to act in ways that degrade the environment or produce wars.
The strategy relies on the fact that throughout the evolutionary history of life on Earth, the emergence of larger-scale cooperative organisations has always first required the emergence of a source of power that can manage the organisation in ways that support cooperation, prevent free-riding, etc.
It is highly improbable that such a source of global power could be achieved at this time through 'bottom-up' processes, e.g., by individuals banding together to support strategies that can institute a global system. Somewhat counterintuitively, a far more likely potential source of global power is a coalition of the extremely wealthy.
He has written two Sub Stack articles that draw on an evolutionary perspective to identify the feasibility of such a strategy and how it can be organised:
"Why there must be a viable strategy for overcoming climate change and other existential threats": A PDF of the article is here: evolutionarymanifesto.com/evolutionarycontext.pdf
"How 'The One Percent' can be Organized to Fix Climate Change": a PDF of this article is here: evolutionarymanifesto.com/theonepercent.pdf
Here is a discussion with John Bunzl about the evolutionary imperative for humanity to move to a unified, cooperative, and highly evolvable global society enabled by appropriate global governance.
As part of the global governance initiative, the following four emails have been sent to over 700 evolutionary scientists whose work deals to some extent with the large-scale evolutionary processes that have shaped life on Earth and that will determine its future: the first email, the second email, the third email, and the fourth email.
The third email contains links to emails sent to 15 leading evolutionary scientists to get them to use their reputations to lead the initiative.
The Following are Non-DMAP-influenced Resources on Global Governance
The Universe Institute staff has recently assisted the World Democracy Coalition in designing and implementing an acceptable form of global governance. We understand that the World Democracy Coalition will soon merge with other organizations with similar missions, and the Universe Institute will continue in an evaluative and advisory capacity for this new global governance organization.
